Everything ELL

ESL

The Hawthorne School District provides the parents of our English Language Learners with a mid-year and end-of-year progress report that is specific to the English Language Learner curriculum. These reports are specified by grade bands and contain progress indicators outlined by WIDA, the Wisconsin Center for Educational Research.

Each progress report addresses four core literacy skills, including reading, writing, listening and speaking. Students are evaluated in all areas on a scale from 1-5, with one indicating a beginner, and five indicating a student who is preparing to exit the ELL program.

In order to access your child's progress report in another language, begin by selecting the grade band to which your child belongs from the options outlined on the left of this page. Then, use the "Translate Site" tab at the top of the page to select the language that you need.

We are excited to continue to build upon our partnership as we work together to support the education of all our Hawthorne students.
